ECSITE Conference 2026

The Ecsite Conference 2026 takes place from 2 to 4 June at Universeum — Sweden’s national science centre — and the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden. The annual conference is the leading global gathering for science engagement professionals, bringing together over 900 participants from more than 50 countries, including science centre and museum directors, exhibition developers, education specialists, EU project managers, and researchers.

The 2026 edition will explore key themes including sustainability, technology, art, and the role of science in society — making it a strategic opportunity for PULSE-ART to share its research and connect with key actors across the European science engagement and education ecosystem.

Pilar López and Tania Gallego, from the National Museum of Natural Sciences in Madrid, Spain (MNCN-CSIC, for its Spanish acronym), part of the PULSE-ART project, will discuss the intersection of art, education, and scientific illustration in non-formal learning environments. Through the PULSE-ART European project, they will study how scientific illustration fosters cultural awareness and scientific literacy by creating inclusive bridges between creative disciplines and formal education. On June 3, 2026, from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. CET, the MNCN-CSIC will participate in a roundtable discussion titled “Exploring the Potential for Scientific Illustrations in Natural History Museums” alongside the Natural History Museum (London), and the Natural History and Science Museum of the University of Porto (Portugal).

Agenda

The programme features over 70 sessions, two keynotes, five deep dives, and a trade show with over 50 exhibiting companies. It also offers numerous networking opportunities that drive public engagement with science.

The conference is held in English.
